New Marie Claire Idees Site

Edit 11/20:  Links to Marie Claire Idees new site have been changed and use Google Translate now.  They should be working just fine now ~sorry about any earlier problems.

Marie Claire Idees just launched a new site that's much more user friendly and, best of all, has many more pictures.

I love that you can pick projects by color!  "Vive le Prune" or "Long Live The Plum"  is my current favorite.  Is it the colors or the title (sometimes I prefer the French over the translation)?

I don't think I'm going even need to continue my subscription.  I can't read the instructions in the print copy because they're in French and I can get all the pics, downloads and English on the site for free.  Shhhh...don't tell.

The links are translated into English and should continue to translate as you link to more projects.

Have a great weekend!

Last, But Not Least, Marie Claire Idees' Love

The snowy French (maybe Swiss?) Winter Section:

Even with their cozies there's no way these plants are going to make it out here, but they sure are cute!

Don't forget to wrap the porch chandelier in yarn.  As silly as it seems, I like the look.

Love the chairs and the snowman.  There's a knitting pattern for the birdhouse and the chairs, but methinks  there might be an easier (lazier) way.

We now move on to the musical portion of our entertainment...

The embroidery pattern for the pillow is available...OR...you could print sheet music onto fabric directly or with a transfer.    I love the table runner idea!

The GIANT sheet music wallpaper.  I like it, but I can't say I'd do it. The spray painted branch with the ornaments...that I can do.

Goodbye for this month Marie Claire Idees'.

Next week I'll be back with projects I've been working on!

Marie Claire Idees Two

Some more from this month's Marie Claire Idees!

Moving on to the more colorful portion...

I don't decorate in red and torquoise myself, but I still like the combo and I LOVE the wrapping idea!

Babushkas!  Love the colors, want to stay in this cozy little cabin!

She has to be wearing blush.

You can buy the rights to print these babushkas at Marie Claire Idees (English via Google Translate).  Just look for "Recent Posts" on the left side and click on "Explanations of Babushkas...".
OR...you could just find some free matryoshka clip art and make these advent bags yourself.

Another Advent calendar kit you can purchase.  I'm thinking it's recovered matchbooks.

Clip art ideas...check on the left side under "Recent Posts" and click on "Explanation of Christmas Decorations Made with Paper..." at Marie Claire Idees for the FREE clip art.

More kits to purchase.  If I were you and I wanted to make the little babushkas, I'd just print free matroyshka clip art images onto fabric and stuff them myself, but that's just thrifty ol' me.

Not EVERYTHING in Mare Clairee Idees is wonderful (to me, anyway)
This does not look good.  Doesn't even look cooked.  I'm fine with the fact that this is written in French and I can't read the recipe.

I'll eat this yogurt, though.  Yummmm...

And I want to be the cartoon lady wearing the cheese hat.

It's Holly Golightly in Switzerland eating cheese.  Totally.

Marie Claire Idees Love~ Part One

I LOVE this month's issue of Marie Claire Idees'! I have so many pictures that I want to share with you that it'll be in 3 doses, but oh, it'll be worth it.

Do keep in mind that me and my tennis shoes are not the greatest photographer.

There's the Winter Whites section...
What a great idea to go chic with a plain old sofa or chair cover!

I'm in love with the light pink and silvery gray.  Paint the inside of some votives and outsides of roses from the Dollar Store?

This is just so sweet.

I can't decide how I feel about the nail/string art, but I keep turning back to it, so I think I like it.

The Mini Kits (I love these) ...

What a fabulous idea for a knitter, crocheter or sewer! You can print out the clip art labels (pin holder, yarn spool) for the kits on the Marie Claire Idees website (translated into English).  On the left side, under "Recent Posts" click on "Labels from mini sewing kits...".

The way this little stamping/stationery box is set up is fabulous too.

What a great idea for a little baking kit.  You wouldn't need to include the flour etc., just a recipe, paper cups, decorations, a tea towel , and the other extras.

Have fun and I'll have more for you to browse at tomorrow!

Marie Claire Idees

Last Xmas my mom gave me a subscription to Marie Claire Idees and I just got my first one early this month.  This issue didn't have me completely thrilled like I thought I'd be, though.

There were a few "idees" that wowed me a bit...

I love the leaves that are sprinkled on the umbrella.  I'd worry about them getting we, though.

This looks absolutely delicious...wish I could read French.

I got quite a giggle out of this add

The perfect family?  I'd need to lose 100lbs to meet this bill.  Actually, I'm lying that's EXACTLY what my house, kids, husband, AND bday parties look like...LOL!
