I'm on a roll...or a clutch (hee hee)

I'm pumpin' out the to-do list projects!

I finished a crochet CLUTCH to replace my crochet ROLL today

I used the Crochet Hook Case free pattern and tutorial by Mad Quilter

Inside:

Pattern changes I'd recommend:

One: Read all of the instructions first.  A couple of times she adds things to have done in an earlier step.

Two:
Strap just doesn't seem functional to me in it's current placement
(I did double-check to make sure I did it right)

THREE:
Cut top flat to be the same width as bottom pocket and sew in.

I added a crochet flower to the end of my flap to tack it down and...
to provide a holder for my tapestry needles.

Illustrated Version of my changes...

Other than those few things the pattern and tutorial were great.

The clutch is easy to sew, it folds up perfectly, the size is PERFECT for metal hooks (as Mad Quilter suggests, be sure to use 6mm seam allowance) and it's quite cute and handy.

This would make a terrific gift for any crocheter friends.  We always need something to stow our spare hooks in!

THANKS, MAD QUILTER!

For My Mom

Handmade for My Mommy
She wanted me to make her a BIG purse out of some fabric she bought awhile back

I didn't like the fabric, but I found some lining that I liked that made sewing it bearable
...but I guess that's what Mother's Day is about

I hope she likes it.
(Do you know how hard it is to photo a handbag)

I used the Tohoku Tote pattern from I am Momma Hear Me Roar--altered just a wee bit to make it larger and the bow removed because that would be my mom.

(Hers is much prettier and I can't wait to make a couple from some cute fabric for Alyssa and Kaely)
The pattern and tutorial or very user-friendly and is obtainable by simply making a donation to a charity.

Village People Gifts!

Projects undone, Christmas presents never finished, but I still need to get my craft room cleaned out...

Nothing like a Happy Tuesday gift in the middle of February, right?!
Mustache glasses for my nephew Michael.
I saw Tatertots & Jello's tutorial and I just knew he'd love them!

Kaely does!
Doesn't she look like one of the Village People!

Easy, easy to do.
Get yourself some:
  • Dollar Store glasses
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Permanent glassware paint (I used "Glossies")
  • Paintbrushes
  • Tape
  • 3" wide mustache clip art (just "google" it in images and you'll find tons!)
1. Tape your mustache image to the inside of the glass.
2.  Clean outside of glass with rubbing alcohol (very important step)

3.  Paint.  I usually paint the outside first (like cookie decorating) & then fill in.
4.  Remove paper and check for areas that need filling in.

5.  Dry for 24 hours and then bake in the oven as directed.

VOILA!

And when you posterize...
Total Macho Man!

0 and 2, but feelin' good about it.

Kaely
Can you see her :)!
Well, that's my little Kaely front and center at Benaroya (Home of the Seattle Symphony)!!! singing in the WMEA Honor Choir.
Over 4,000 kids from WA state tried out and she was one of the lucky 300 that made it.
Very cool.

Addie...
She made these awesome little tissue monsters after I showed her the tutorial at Wray Sist3rs.  Hers are legless, but she's 10, so I'll give her a pass.

Me...
Okay, okay, I'm just cutting out stuff, but you have to start somewhere!

WAIT!
I bought cotton candy after the WMEA concert...In their book I was actually up one!
