Robo-Ribbit

Steampunk Froggy
(and probably more pictures than are necessary)

This little guy started his life out as a 50cent paper mache' frog from Michael's
I painted him black, cut out a niche in his back and in his chest for steampunk part, which I then sealed with tissue paper and mod-podge.

After the black paint dried I added a pewter shaded metallic rub.

The wheels--recycled plastic parts from my tape runner that I spray painted black and added some metallic rub to and then embellished with watch parts and a X-mas light fuse.
Plastic doll eyes with their brass backings were added along with a spare watch part for interest.
Silk covered foam core was added to the back niche, so passengers can travel in style.
A back light was added--it's a bulb from a burnt X-mas light.
Spring-form armrests are included
The niche in the front is embellished with brass "rivets" and a working latch.
BTW...brass parts are easily made with some embossing ink, powder and a heat gun

Open the front latch and you'll find his little brass froggy heart along with other spare parts.
Yes, I do believe I'm addicted to steampunk!
This little guy will be now entered in...

Sorry about the word verification--my blog was hijacked not too long ago, so now I have to take robo-cautions.
