I've been playing with dryer sheets for a journal I'm making as part of Rae Missigmen's "Go Green" class at 21 Secrets Art Journal Workshop*

Used dryer sheets, that is.
Fold them in half or double them up and they make for a sturdy canvas that you can use in your art.
To keep mine together I zig-zagged around the edges and then doodle-stitched some spirals.
To doodle stitch I kept the feed dogs up, but I lowered the amount of pressure on the pressure foot to almost nothing.
You can also add color with
Spray alcohol inks
Very little ink is needed--just use paper towels to sop up extra ink and let dry for about 5 minutes and you're ready to go!
You can even use this week's Summer of Color 3 colors (lime green and purple) in a funky zebra print!
You can paint with dyes too!
Wanna see the whole gosh darn lineup?
They are just a bit addictive.
Cut them up, sew them together...lots of cool uses!

Wow, they absorb the color so beautifully! If I had a sewing machine I'd be all over this!
