I just finished my first art journal!
It's messy, it won't close, pages have had to be taped back in,
And I LOVE it!
For this journal I started with an super cheap autograph book from Oriental Trading that I remade.
I just pulled the guts out, recovered the the funky little camp cover with my own paper, readded the guts and out popped a new journal.
I put the empty, blank little journal next to my computer with a art bag full of basic supplies next to my computer so it was handy and stared at me every morning.
I also decided to loosen up and just do it.
I doodle with business cards, packages, recipe ideas
embroidery patterns
boxes, unused coupons
ribbons, receipts, expired rabies tags, tickets, ads,
Instant pictures, packaging
Even little drawings of "Weatherland"
DANG! That was so much FUN!!!

Really.
What a beautifl journal. I've been art journaling just under 2 years and I haven't finished one complete journal yet. I have about 6 or 8 journals. I am moving soon and have limited myself to just a small box of supplies until I am in my new place. I like your idea of using snips and scraps, envelopes, etc. I've enjoyed looking at your entire blog. I also do jewelry work, so I've enjoyed those posts too.
